A technical advisory role, overseeing several social housing developments
Previously acting in a more traditional architect / contractor role on numerous projects, Alcove Architecture were approached by the same main contractor to undertake a technical coordination role for a series of forthcoming design and build procurement projects due to their resourcing demands.
With a novated architect, we had no direct involvement with the design but were able to review and challenge the design regarding compliance with the extensive requirements of the Housing Association including Space Standards, Lifetime Homes, Wheelchair Housing and Building Regulations.
Furthermore, given the knowledge we have with construction programming, we led design team meetings to ensure delivery of information was timely and in accordance with the needs of the contractor’s surveying and procurement team.
Acting as point of contact for end user design queries, this enabled the design team to focus on delivery of the projects on time for all four sites spread across the mid Sussex region.
