Refurbishment
“We were appointed by the client to refresh their luxury London home and worked closely with Alcove Architecture to ensure whatever interior design choices we made could be achieved within the parameters of the existing architecture. When it was known the existing stair was in disrepair, Alcove suggested and designed a complete replacement that was dynamic, bold and complimented our concept whilst also removing the landing to provide more light into the family home. Both ourselves and client are delighted with the final result.” Blanca Sanchez, Halo Design Interiors
Replanning and renovation of a Grade II listed Belgravia maisonette
Alcove Architecture led the coordination and collaborated with the interior designer, engineers and main contractor to breathe new life into this Grade II listed property in London.
The existing property was tired-looking and dated, and the layout did not facilitate the client’s requirement for a modern family home. Alcove undertook a re-planning exercise to establish the optimum internal layout and a redesign of the feature staircase which connects the two floors of the building.
Working closely with the contractor and other consultants, modern essentials such as air conditioning, audio, visual and security are seamlessly integrated into the finished home without prejudice to the larger estate.
Period architectural features such as ceiling cornicing, fireplaces and iron metalwork were uncovered during construction and restored to preserve the essence of the existing townhouse, all beautifully complemented by the timeless interior design scheme.
